Trailhead Celebrates Two Years + A New Chapter

Written by Trailhead’s Board of Directors

This year, we are preparing to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary.  Trailhead has catalyzed Boise’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. We’ve held over 400 events attended by 12,000 people. Nearly 400 members strong and growing, Trailhead provides workspace, trains company builders, and holds some of the coolest and creative events in Idaho. We are collaborating with the private sector, foundations, and our universities to fill acute skills deficits in entrepreneurship and computer programming. Our growth exceeds our most optimistic forecasts, and led us to expand to a new space in the 8th St. Marketplace after only 18 months.

This sudden impact in the community was driven by our Founding Executive Director Raino Zoller, a committed board, our many public/private partnerships, and perhaps most importantly, the entrepreneurs that call Trailhead home.  We are very proud of the company we keep, such as major sponsors Micron, Albertsons, Perkins Coie, The Joe and Kathryn Albertsons Family Foundation, Keynetics, MWI, Cradlepoint, CCDC, and the City of Boise.

As we approach our 2nd Anniversary, we leave the “startup” phase of our journey, heading for maturity and sustainability.  More partnerships, more space, more programs, more successful entrepreneurs.  And with this expansion of services comes an opportunity for new leadership.

As we make our way into this next phase, we celebrate the past two years which laid the foundation for our future success. Raino helped us plan and execute Trailhead’s growth stage during this time, and now plans a return to the private sector. He will continue in his role as Executive Director until new leadership is in place and will be a regular presence at Trailhead well into the future.

We are excited to celebrate two years, start a new chapter, and announce a search for a visionary Executive Director to lead the next phase of Trailhead’s journey. If you are interested in guiding Trailhead in its mission to train entrepreneurs, scale businesses, and create high paying jobs, please reach out to John Hale or Nic Miller at boardofdirectors@trailheadboise.org.
