Boise Startup Week to Celebrate Entrepreneurship

1 week. 50+ free startup events. Endless opportunities.

Trailhead, along with the City of Boise, Idaho Virtual Reality Council (IVRC), Boise State University (BSU), University of Idaho and Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) have teamed up to host the startup of event of the year: Boise Startup Week.

Boise Startup Week is a five-day celebration of our city’s entrepreneurial spirit through workshops, panel discussions, seminars, office hours, and parties. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about Boise’s startup community — and become part of it.

The week’s events are split into six different tracks:

Main Events (hosted by the City of Boise, IVRC, and Trailhead): Idaho Virtual Reality Council is putting on the 2016 VR Bash on Wednesday, October 19th. Attendees can meet and learn from industry experts, including Boise own Black Box VR and the Unity, the world’s leading game development platform. Venture capitalist Mark Cranney from Andreessen Horowitz will be keynoting the event. Last but not least, put a cap on Boise Startup Week at the Trailhead Block Party on Friday, October 21st.

Founders Track (led by Michael Hollenbeck of Proskriptive): Designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, this track focuses on all things startup and brings together some of our area’s top entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to share their knowledge, lessons learned, and pro tips.

Dev Track (led by Jim Bradbury of IVRC): The Idaho Virtual Reality Council has really pulled some strings to get some of the biggest AR/VR names in the country right here in Boise, Idaho. Get Unity Certified by the guys from Unity, learn how to make a game in Unity, and check out the Unity Virtual Reality Demo, amongst other things.

Talent Track (led by Charity Nelson of BVEP): Interested in recruiting Millennials? Are you a millennial? This track if for you. As an employer you can learn the latest recruiting strategies and as a student you can get the chance to interact with hiring managers and industry professionals.

Social Impact Track (led by Pete Gombert of GoodWell & Angeli Weller of BSU): Learn about the world of social entrepreneurship through students, business professionals, and startup founders.

Office Hours (hosted by Trailhead): Meet with industry experts and experienced founders to get one-on-one insights and advice for your venture.
